Hunter Heritage Foundation Opposes Deer Bills in Texas4.23.2013
The Hunter Heritage Foundation has announced its opposition to bills currently proposed in the Texas Legislature that would dramatically alter the state’s existing deer management regulations. The two bills — HB 2433 and SB 1412 — would impose risky and unnecessary restrictions that are proven harmful to the welfare of Texas deer and negatively impact hunting opportunities throughout the state.

The American Deer & Wildlife Alliance recently hosted its 1st Annual Pig-apalooza Youth Hog Hunt at DB Hunting Ranch in Bertram, Texas, and sponsored hog hunting opportunities for 20 children, ages eight to 15.

AUSTIN, Texas — Supporting outdoor education and encouraging youth participation, the American Deer & Wildlife Alliance (ADWA) has initiated an all-new youth program to provision select, outdoor youth camps across the country with special ‘Camper Bags’ for the children enrolled. Among the first camps included in the program are Ted Nugent’s Kamp for Kids in Jackson, Mich.; Beyond the Backyard in Charleston, W.V.; United Sportsmen’s Youth Foundation in Freeport, Ill.; Ray Howell’s Kicking Bear in La Crescent, Minn.; and Texas Deer Association’s Youth Deer Camp in San Antonio, Texas.

AUSTIN, Texas – Kids ages six to 15 are invited to attend the Austin Bow Hunting & Archery Clinic sponsored by the American Deer & Wildlife Alliance (ADWA) and the Texas Deer Association. The event will be held on Saturday, August 9, 2008 from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Archery Country, Austin’s oldest archery store. All equipment will be provided.
